BBC WORLDWIDE AMERICA RESTRUCTURES TV SALES AND CO-PRODUCTIONS BUSINESS

BBC Worldwide America has restructured its U.S. TV Sales and Co-productions business to create synergies with its Content & Production arm and drive sales and partnerships with U.S. broadcasters.

The move is part of BBC Worldwide's global strategy to drive greater export sales through its Global TV Sales division.

Garth Ancier, President BBC Worldwide America today announces the two most senior appointments in newly created positions: Paul Telegdy, EVP TV Sales and Content & Production and Susanna Pollack, SVP TV Sales, Co-Productions and Children's.

Commented Ancier: "It makes great sense for us to cross pollinate the TV Sales business with our Content & Production arm in the U.S. under Paul's direction.

"Both businesses have built very solid relationships with all the major networks and broadcast operators and it is exactly the right time to unify our approach and bring a stronger proposition to our clients."

Steve Macallister, Managing Director Global TV Sales says: "This ushers in a crucial new phase in our global growth strategy. Bolstering our relationships with the networks provides new opportunities to showcase British programming to U.S. audiences and a stronger framework for creating highly exportable co-productions.

"Combine this with our clout around the world as Europe's biggest distributor, and it's clear that our growth plans are taking a major step forward."

"More British programming is watched in U.S. homes than ever before and we can be proud of the role we've played in achieving that," says Telegdy.

"With Susanna and the rest of the highly talented team on board, we're ready to take that up a notch and build on our hard earned reputation by working even closer with commissioners to deliver them the kind of outstanding programs we've become recognized for."
